Why I like Lebron James

Postby ucanit » Sat Jul 10, 2010 10:16 pm

With an annual salary of around $100M, Lebron realized that he would be able to keep about $13M more of the money he made in Florida than he would in New York, where state and municipal personal income tax is about 13%. Maybe his revelation will encourage lots of "tax and spenders" to consider voting differently!!

Every team pays income tax in the different states they play in. It will be interesting to see how this works out. When Chamberlain-West-Baylor teamed up it worked pretty good. The 71-71 lakers established the record for consecutive wins at 33, but Baylor retired 9 games into that season.

Starters:
Jerry West
Gail Goodrich
Wilt Chamberlain
Happy Hairston
Jim McMillan

Bench:
Pat Riley
Keith Erickson
Flynn Robinson
Leroy Ellis
Jim Cleamons
John Q. Trapp
Elgin Baylor retired 9 games into the season

Coach Bill Sharman (first year)
Asst. Coach was K.C. Jones

To me, "King James" (laughable) epitomizes everything that is wrong with "professional" sports. I highly doubt that a few percentage points in a tax rate, would sway him one way or the other. No...I believe it's simply about Jame's ego...he needs wins to legitimize himself...and it's a quick "turn of the back", to those that have supported him so long...

I'd like to see some new rules instituted to make the game more interesting and entertaining. First, raise the net another foot...and add a penalty of say, 10 points for hanging on the rim !! Next...they already have a 3 point shot...how about a 5 point shot from half court and a 10 point shot from full ? You know...to put the "shot skills" back into it . And finally, CALL TRAVELING !!! These 3 and 4 step layups are ridiculous...

KeepIt Real, I don't know about you other suggestions, but I am tired of watching players run with the ball. I know how the Cleveland fans feel. I lived if Florida when Shaq abandoned the Magic, but that worked out good for him in LA. I hope the Magic beat out the Heat this year. 8) Watch the Thunder this year, Kevin Durant may end up as the best player in the game before too long.

You're damn right, Keepitreal.

I ain't watched no NBA games hardley since bout' 1982. Most of these self-centered turds turday wear too much fine art on their skins. Jeseus Christ, cuz you'd think they were voodoo artists or something of the sort.

Dazed and everybody else remembers the legend players. Dazed is like a walk'en-talk'en Wikipedia, ain't he? I did have the opportunity to meet George Gervin during his time with the ABA's Virginia Squires. You folk' may not remember much bout' George, butt the man was one of the purest shooters I've ever seen, and that ain't no damn lie. God Bless Pete Maravich too, cuz the man was one of the best ball handlers and shooters I've ever seen. I ain't goin' on no more bout' these players, cuz we all have our favorites. West was cool, and Magic and Bird brought life back to the NBA round bout' 1979.

Them walk'en fouls today are ridiculous. Wait... one more thing. I never liked Kareem, and I'll never forget when Wes Unseld threatened to knock Kareem's head off if he ever so much as gave him (Wes) a dirty foul.

KeepitReal: I'll see you in Buffalo this Friday for lunch.

To each his own I always try to say...but when they choose to inflict their arrogance on the populace (by basically hiring out a TV network for self promotion), well then...I guess I get to have an opinion as well...

WestTx... I'd love to meet ya for lunch !! ...but sorry...this weekend is not possible for me. We have a grad party...

Rest assured though, wherever you choose...the eats will satisfy !! The Anchor Bar is a good one...

That sounds right good to me, so I'll jest take a rain check. Congratulations to the graduate.

Maybe I'll fly my arse into Chicago to see DDeath. I could use a dozen or more of fresh cherry pastries. Maybe I can con his arse into taking me to lunch down in the Loop!
