But White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday, "That was not his task, and that's not the task of NASA."

If we can't trust the White House Press Secretary, who in this administration can we trust? Oh, I'm sorry I asked that question!

I think Bolden told it just like it was told to him!

UCanIt, did you notice that nobody has come forward to try to spin this or dismiss it.

Dazed,

I saw the CNN interview bout' a week or so ago. This NASA fool seemed to be a screwball to me. There won't no finer govment agency than NASA during the 1960's. I for sure don't understand the current political agenda.

I ain't quite sure what the Hell is groin' on these days. All I can say is that I'm thankful for the opportunities given to me many years ago to make my life worthwhile. Maybe I'm jest so far removed from today's generation to fully understand what's happening. Nonetheless, I still talk to youngsters who seem very motivated to do good in this world.

I still go back to 1964 when Goldwater lost to LBJ. That was a turning point that most black folk' thought the Democrats were saviors for the Civil Rights cause. I tend to disagree, but that's cuz of the opportunities afforded to me from folk' other than the liberal groups. I know others disagree.

I ain't got no answers.

This to me is just basic capitalism 101...

Tried ?? Tried to do what ? Defend Obama's actions ?? Defend the fact that his Press Secretary did an "about face" ??
(both sides are guilty of this...you know that...)

I just called it as I see it... In a Global Economy, you have to aquire OPM (other people's money). Some of those OP's that have it, may not be desirable...but their money sure is. Just trying to show a realistic point of view here...NASA needs it and they have it.

Capitalism simply teaches us that the bottom line is most important and NASA's bottom line is hurting. It only makes good economic sense for them, to go after what they need and deal with the consessions that have to be made afterward. NASA is a key component in our National Security infrastructure, is it not ?

Capitalism also teaches us that everything and anything can be "for sale to the highest bidder". We claim this is OUR Country, but every single day AMERICAN Corporate interests are selling our Country away, piece by piece, to foreign (and sometimes not desirable) interests. I honestly believe one day (too late), we will wake up and say, "Dude, where's our Country ?!?"

Do I agree with this course ? Absolutely not !! ...and I don't believe windowman does either.
(I'm guessing that your comment was meant for us...as we seem to be "the token Liberals" on here... )

All I tried to point out is, that while Islam IS a threat to our Nation and our way of life...there are other threats out there as well...some of which are highly cherrished by the "Right-minded thinkers" on here...(eg. unfettered Capitalism, powerful and wealthy Corporations and an unregulated Free Market).

Will anyone on here listen ? Did I sway any minds ? Probably not...because by stating the above, I simply confirmed that I don't agree with total Conservative Philosophies...and therfore, using their very narrow definition of what a Conservative is (you either are or you're not...there's NO in-between...and no "free-thinking" allowed in the Conservative camp), I will continue to be labeled an anti-business, anti free-market, anti capitalistic, progressive, liberal, communist, socialist, nazi, drug abusing, tax and spend, Obama loving, anti American, Reagan-Hater !!... OMG !!

(they sure do have a lot of adjectives for anyone that doesn't agree with them, don't they ? "Me thinks they doth protest too much" ) Grandpappy always said, "You gotta watch people like that"... :D

My observations are just that...observations,not speculations. By all means, be pissed with Islam, but also be equally pissed about these other things that are already happening right under our collective noses...
...and there are more than a few on here that fully support this "unlimited business" line of thinking and are quite ready to pounce on anyone who doesn't agree....

By the way...I only stuck my nose in because I'm on vacation and have a little spare time. Other than that, I would have been just as content to let you guys rant... 8)

KeepItReal, no anti-capitalism rant will can deflect the fact that we have a leftest president who is actively engineering the fall of America. Saul Alinsky planted a seed that obama and clinton are watering.

Now go back to having a great vacation. What are you doing?

See though, that's the funny part...I'm not anti-capitalistic...I actually started 2 small businesses from scratch...

...but I do see the need to regulate to keep things in check. I also feel that the selling off of our Country piece by piece to foreign interests, is just as big a threat to our security, as Radical Islam...

So, what am I doing on vacation ? EVERYTHING !!

We have about 60 people coming this weekend, so between setup, yard work and all the usual stuff that I have to catch up on...it just feels like EVERYTHING... Next week we have a few day trips planned, nothing special...but relaxing...

Uh oh...Mrs. Real found me...gotta run.... :D
