Careful there, GEEZER! Elizabeth Diane Sluder, the daughter of local Hell's Angels late president Dwight Sluder, didn't think she needed a permit either. You might get to be her "bunkmate."

UCanIt, I just got back from Academy which is having what they call a sale. I have settled on the Taurus 24/7 for my concealed carry. Academy has the gun priced at $440. Needless to say I will shop elsewhere. My gun pro at work also recommended the 24/7 for concealed carry.

I think you'll be very pleased with your choice, D'nC. I think that price is a little high. Like I said before, I got mine for $379 (but that was before concealed carry was as popular as it is now).

UCanIt, I just bought mine today for $389, so at least we are in the same ballpark. I am going to take a shooting lesson and then go for my concealed carry permit. I haven't shot a handgun in a very long time. A guy at work is recommending Winchester PDX 9MM.

Good price, D'nC. I can't wait to hear how much you enjoy that piece. Winchester ammo is good stuff. You can buy MagTech or American Eagle for a couple of cents less per round, but I like the PDX bonding of the lead core and copper jacket into one unit which controls expansion and enhances range and impact velocity. The nickel platted casings also help smooth chambering and ejection. I have yet to figure out why Remington prices are about 10 more cents per round. Happy shooting....
