UCanIt, I have been dealing with this Global Warming since Christmas Eve, and all of the side streets still have thick patches of Global Warming Residue(some people still call it ice). This is by far the coldest winter since I came to Oklahoma in Jan 1997, and I was carrying mail out there until March 2005 so I am damn glad I don't have to carry this year.

I guess Al Gore is spending a cold day in Hell.

I've often wondered if Gore ever took a science course in school. All these freaks seem to come out of Harvard or Yale Law School dumber than mule shitz. Gore the bore (and liar) probably can't determine when Celsius is equal to Fahrenheit on the temperature scale.

Dazed: I apologize for referring to you a lawyer in an earlier post. I take my statement back. You'll be the local chemist or something like that.

DDeath: I got an old friend nawth of you in Spooner, WI. That damn place hit -22F this morning. I knowed Chicago is blow'en some right cold winds off the lake.

Hell, cuz I jest better fire up the cook'en grill to stay warm!

Just wonder if we post the record setting temperatures of the summer months would it mean anything also? It is all about "averages" I guess.. I guess anyone could take a day or a couple of weeks of weather and try to make their case.. We all know what we believe anyways so what is the difference.. I will leave it to the weather and science geeks to figure what this means.. That is what they live for. Maybe we are getting another ice age and I don't have to worry about hurricanes anymore where I live!

I don't think everyone is enjoying the cooldown:

Retreat of Andean Glaciers
Foretells Global Water Woes
Bolivia accounts for a tiny fraction of global greenhouse gas emissions. But it will soon be paying a disproportionately high price for a major consequence of global warming: the rapid loss of glaciers and a subsequent decline in vital water supplies.
by carolyn kormann

Earlier this year, the World Bank released yet another in a seemingly endless stream of reports by global institutions and universities chronicling the melting of the world’s cryosphere, or ice zone. This latest report concerned the glaciers in the Andes and revealed the following: Bolivia’s famed Chacaltaya glacier has lost 80 percent of its surface area since 1982, and Peruvian glaciers have lost more than one-fifth of their mass in the past 35 years, reducing by 12 percent the water flow to the country’s coastal region, home to 60 percent of Peru’s population.

And if warming trends continue, the study concluded, many of the Andes’ tropical glaciers will disappear within 20 years, not only threatening the water supplies of 77 million people in the region, but also reducing hydropower production, which accounts for roughly half of the electricity generated in Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador.

Ya'll just keep right on ignoring the facts and depending on those fraudulent models produced by the Global Warming Terrorists!

Free yourself with some facts! Of course, it's only facts! Not some op-ed written by some (well, I won't call any names).

How can scientists who report measurements of the earth's temperature within one one-hundredth of a degree be unable to concur if the temperature is going up or down over a ten year period?

Global Warming Terrorists? Now that a new term.. Scientists who report their findings or opinions are terrorists.. Maybe the author of your link is one also.. I just think he is a renegade with a opinion that is different than the majority of them. We all have our opinions and reasons or "facts"to believe what we do and as wrong as they might be we all are entitled to them and I won't name any names.

ucanit,

Do you think the glaciers melting in South America is fact or fiction?

Not calling names?

Come on ya'll. The raw data shows there has been a distinct drop in temperatures over the past ten years. Only after the data has been massaged for so-called scientists whose own personal and profession emails show they espoused using "tricks" and "creating data" to justify their position, does the bull shitz actually support global warming.

DD, if it weren't for previous periods of normally occurring warming and cooling periods, the Great Lakes wouldn't even exist now. So...are you really opposed to nature doing its own thing? Do you really think we mortal humans can really change what's going to occur whether we're here or not?

ucanit,

I always said there is no proof that global warming is man-made.......... only that it was happening, although the last two years it seems to have reversed. Whether it's man-made or natural, let the scientists argue that point. However, it can't hurt to stop dumping all of that shitz into the atmosphere. I don't think we should do anything that would further damage our economy. I think swiching to green (new) technology such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and more use of natural gas can not only help the environment, but could help dig the economy out of the doldrums by creating new jobs.

I'm a pragmatist. At least that's better than a pedophile.......... isn't it?

Yep, it's better!

Look, I'm not against "greening up," creating jobs and finding a way to live without using any of those Arabs' oil. But do it because it's good business and because we've figured out a way to do it in a better way and at a lower cost WITHOUT all the government regulations, mandates and taxes. The current approach has nothing to do with doing things better...only to take control and redistribute wealth (and you know it!). Stop all the bullshitz that it’s all about “save the world,” “protect our children,” “consumption guilt” and other pseudo-moral stupidity!

Wow this my view rules stuff will never end.. It is like we are trying to play king of the mountain and knocking anyone off the top with their views. I for one think that man can change things and you can take that view wherever you want. Once again if we are capable of making nukes that if used world wide could cause a man made nuclear winter than we can change things in my opinion. I will use another example..we all have seen the pictures of lakes used for garbage dumps then once cleaned up they come back. Then you can argue was that "Man" doing the work or "Nature" doing it to bring the lake back to life? Well it was not Mother Nature who polluted that lake to begin with and it was not Mother Nature who went into that lake to pull the garbage out.. And no I am not a tree hugger, just making a logical point.. I do not see the point in always arguing who the hell is correct because that in itself does not change things. We all have our opinions and so be it.. I really do not care if I stand alone in this board with mine and you will have to move mountains to change it..

Yeah, and I can scratch my ass and wash my car too! But it won't make me any healthier or my car run any better!

Talk about a simplistic reply.. Then again if you have a doctor to look up your ass or a mechanic to open the hood you might be making progress! Now how this relates to anything stated so far I will let you decide..
