DDeath, you notice Tarantino had her dance for him and not Clooney. I bet there were many retakes of that scene.

Thanks for the compliment, Mark! And that was a hell of a nice clip of "Careless Whisper" you posted! I love the sound of that "King Super 20" sax. The damned piss-poor function of the octave key on that horn makes for a beautiful "gliss" into every upper register note 'cause the player has to "lip" every note up to intonation pitch.

WestTx, I didn't mean to make that sound like a slam. You just gave me a chance to "show off" my old "axes" and the fact that I still remember a thing or two about the music business after being out of it for some many years. Gawd, how I miss those good ol' days!

I was pretty damned good at it...at one time, many years ago!

... and I bet you still are. Jest get your arse on the masters circuit with Mark. That gotdamn Mark is right skilled in everything. Hell, he posted something last night that made him a statesmen! I can see DDeath blow'en a tuba or a Frenchbhorn. I jest had to throwed that in, cuz I knowed can DDeath can blow some hot air through a wind instrument. Hell, jest assign instruments to everyone here!

Mark: Ain't you into home repair, painting and stuff? You'd abeen proud of me fixing a number of nail pops with the dry wall and stuff the other day. I also had some minor water damage from a roof leak. I had the roof repaired, then I went over the ceiling area with that oil-based Kilz, followed by flat-white paint. Damn, cuz it looks nice now... I started to call you with a couple of questions, butt I finally figured it all out.

Let me run. It's snack time for an ice cold Coca'Cola and a moonpie.

Yeah, I wished! Charlie, despite his addiction, had the smoothest fingers to ever caress the keys of a saxophone. The old version of that "King Super 20" he played in this clip had that under-slung octave key that looped up over the note-hole on top of the neck. This prevented accidental "keying" from the thumb when holding the horn a little tight and helped make sure the player could stay in the lower register. Parker's favorite sax was a "Conn 6M," which also had an under-slung octave key; but the note-hole was on the bottom. Charlie’s addiction was so bad that lots of times he would pawn his horn and show up for a "gig" without one at all. Most times, someone would loan him once but once he had to play a plastic saxophone they picked up at a pawn shop.

Damn!! Ya'll are making me have flashbacks!!! 8)

ucanit.....First of all, I wasn't even aware, until you posted the pics, that Martin even made a sax.
As a guitar player, that is all I have in my posession right now.
Why? They simply are the BEST !

Back in the day...that is how I helped pay my way through college, selling, and buying guitars....
Fond memories, and also non-forgettable memories...
I would love to still have some of those instuments today, knowing how valuable they are now...
Sold them all for cash American, and the premise that I could always get something better.

Anyway....another link...I can play this one too dude...a little sax in the back would be nice

We-all love you, Harry! I wouldn't be where I'm today without the good deeds from folk' like you and LBJ! Ironically, Mr. Robeson would've probably thought highly of you. Lil' did he know bout' your family history!

Dazed: Come on in here and take the controls. I gotta go get a big load outta my system.

Mark, I see you recognized the line from "It's Alright Ma". I have been a huge Dylan fan since about 63 when I was 16 and we were shooting pool in a guys basment and he put on a Dylan album. I tolerate Dylan's singing, but is his lyrics that caught me. Just like another of my alltime favorites, Hank Williams, ignore the voice, the words are everything. Some of Bob's stuff is like nails on a chalkboard.
