Can you all set politics aside for one moment ?!?!

Postby SoCalBadBoy13 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:46 am

Hello everyone, my name is Jason and I am posting this on behalf of my best friend and his family. Larry Garcia a recently retired Letter Carrier for Branch 1439 of the NALC who tragically lost his life on September 8, 2012 barely 4 months into his retirement and hadn't even received a full retirement check. Larry worked 30 years for the USPS retired as a T-6 and had served as Shop Steward along the way. He was a great Father, Friend and all around good guy. I am here seeking help to save Larry's only real possession, his 1997 Jeep, he had a title loan on it and his daughter cannot afford to make the payment without a little help as she is very pregnant with her 3rd child. The following link is to the donation page I have set up http://www.gofundme.com/17f72w and if you can help in any way Larry, his family and myself would be very thankful, sincerely, Jason

Hate to apply tough love here, but this tragedy could of been avoided if Larry set up a trust, with a nice term life insurance policy. It would of prevented his good friend Jason from coming on a political forum, and beg for money from people he doesn't know! Its enough to make ya cry!

LOL!! I don't see where I was begging for anything, I simply asked. Speaking of simple, your attempt at being condescending failed and is laughable  Thank you for that. You have to love people who run their mouth before knowing the facts. Tell me, Ms. Daisey, how it feels to where your ass as a hat? Have a nice day!

Jason, You sound like a nice enough guy, but the last thing I would do to anyone I didn't know, is ask them for money, regardless of my situation! That takes balls! How do we know what your using that money for, if we don't know you?

My first response was not meant to be condescending or arrogant by any means. I just felt that your friends situation could be used as a learning tool for everyone on this forum to learn from! Having a proper trust/will, along with the proper amount of life insurance could of saved Larry's family a lot of financial grief, and prevented his good friend Jason from visiting a POLITICAL forum and begging for money!

Who said he didn't have a life insurance policy, he did by the way, and whether there is any type of investigation that would postpone the payout? Maybe the fact that the OPM is so far behind processing retirement applications and only paying a small fraction of what was due had a factor in his having to take out this title loan. As for this being a political forum, it was my mistake joining thinking 'postal' meant Letter Carrier related and not PoliticallyPostal. My asking, not begging, people I dont know for help doesnt take balls. Again I was under the assumption this site was Letter Carrier related and asking Union brothers and sisters for help because a Union is a family and should be there for one another, correct? If it is politics you want I say wake the fuck up people and get rid of all the politicians, remember this country is ours "We the People" not theirs.

Daisy, you want these people running to the government for a handout?

I thought Romney said people will take care of other people without gov. assistance???

Show a little of that right-wing empathy and send the guy a few thousand......... you can afford it!

Howdy Jason.

Daisy's one of my Marine brothers, so take what he says with a lil' thought. I ain't think'en he meant no harm with his words. I'm all for charity when it comes to help'en folk' I believe are deserv'en. Is your friend's obituary posted at Legacy.com ? You might wanna request contributions through his obituary notice. All legitimate deaths can be posted through Legacy.

What's a bit odd here is that the loan'en agency typically makes adjustments to the terms of payment for a death shituation, especially if it's a dealership. Then again, be'en a Jeep puts up the red flag to me, cuz Chrysler products ain't worth a pot to piss in. Them products are so bad, that continued multiple govment bailouts should've put folk' on notice not to purchase their crap.

You might wanna go ahead and pay the balance of your buddy's loan off, then ask for donations to refund your pocket. My guess is that you have enuff friends to chip in. Anuther thing you mighta wanna do is get the Hell outta California. Them red diaper doper babies and whack jobs (include'en the current govnor) are enuff to take the state into financial disaster. I lived in Pasadena for a number of years, and the only good thing in the neighborhood of CalTech. I put in some work time with Honda of North America.

And one other thing. What the Hell is "Southern California Bad Boy?" Is that one of them hummasexual bait calls?

Am I supposed to think the NALC is not at all "political"? Didn't the "politics" title of the forum give it away?....just saying!
3 simple categories....politics....postal....financial..........hmmmmmmmm, which do I chose? ;)

Geezer, Good point! I sure miss your brother setting us all straight on matters of money! His wisdom is surely missed. Please tell him that for me!

westTx,Thanks for setting me straight! sometimes my inner drill instructor gets the best of me, and I go a tad over board. It was nice for Jason to set up an account for his deceased friend, and I wish them all the very best.

DD, Maybe you can send some of those delicious Chicago cherry pastries to Jason, and I will personally stuff each one with a ten dollar bill!

Daisy....still working on him....got a little more "good news" ...they didn't have a lot of hope in trying radiation at the onset....told Monday by oncologist that areas of concern had decreased in size by a little over 50% and a lot not even showing on most recent scan. He (doctor) thought can man was handling things so well that they were gonna make him a little "sicker"....appt with radiation people and now going to make a plan to "sock it to him" with radiation also after main chemo is through...in hopes of holding everything at bay for a longer amount of time. also some follow up maintenance chemo. Later in the day, ucanit said, without any provocation on my part, that he "should" drop in and thank all you guys for the prayers and say hi to everyone....he's still fighting the internet thing, using his smart phone for a "hotspot". But you guys all be patient...I will do all I can do to see that it happens.
