Window, According to estimates there are 250,000 postal employee's eligible for retirement in a few years. I think guys like you and I could be forced to take early retirement, and part time lower paid workers will take our place! In reality, that's probably the only way the USPS survives. First class volume continues to shrink, and the growing parcel business is not enough to take its place. I think Saturday delivery should be eliminated, but parcels should still go out on Saturday! Cluster boxes should also take the place of personnel mail delivery wherever possible! I hope to get at least another five years out of this place, but if i'm forced out, I will take early retirement (I'm only 46, with 25 years in) and get another job, because the annuity won't be nearly enough to retire on.
